It's not a bad list. But it won't seem nearly as impressive after you have taken pharm!

You'll learn all those drugs and more. They mixed trade names and generic names (which happens alot in the world outside of the classroom) and I spotted at least once they used the trade and generic name for a drug fluoxetine=prosac.

The pharm course only teaches the generic names which is what are tested in boards. But in the end you have to know what the commonly occurring trade names are.

Hope all is going well!

I just keep telling myself "all is well"!

How's boards studying going?? When are you slated to take the test?

Pharm's gonna be a toughie for me. In the meantime, I'm wondering why micro is so much less interesting than path...

Diazepam and Valium is also a dupe. between generic and brand.

Everything has been going well, I have taken the test. I think the problem is that path is going to be one of the foundations which you will always return to, it's really the language of medicine and as such is obviously interesting to alot of medical students. Micro is alot more about being able to ID the causative organism and then coupled with pharm choosing the right drug to treat it. I guess what I am really saying is that what you get out of path is the terminology and lots of practice going away for yourself and learning about diseases which you can apply to any medical speciality. In order to get something out of micro you have to have a broad base to be able to come up with possible organisms based on the symptoms and affected organ system, you need the motivation of real clinical cases where the answer could be anything, unlike a micro exam where you know the answer to all the questions will be an organism. Sorry for the long rant type post!
