Board certified and it feels so good!

So apologies for the delay, but yes, on the last week of July, a mere 12 weeks after taking that nightmare of a test, I received confirmation in the form of a nondescript email (or more accurately by my refreshing the website every ten minutes for 12 weeks and driving everyone crazy) that I was "successful" in both the Anatomic and Clinical Pathology portions of the exam.

So I'm a double boarded pathologist, baby!  At the end of this year, if all goes well in Cytopathology, I'll be TRIPLE boarded, which I believe doubles my mana on all offensive plays.

As far as the fellowship, well, there's no place like home, but I'm getting really spectacular training and experience.  But I do miss my own office and my surrogate Charleston family.

Now, the greatest challenge: Finding that first real pathology job.  Clock is ticking!

But yes, the short version:  I PASSED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi! My name is Rebecca and I'm getting ready to attend veterinary school at St. Georges in January. I know you were a med student in Grenada but i was hoping you may be able to provide me with some information. I want to bring my dog, and I am having a hard time finding a place to live. I really am clueless as to everything about Grenada and don't know where I should live. I emailed the recommended housing office and they told me that True Blue, Forest View, and Premium apartments have rooms available, but I don't know anything about those places. Do you know if they are good places to live? Where did you live off of campus? Would you mind emailing me? beccacolleen@gmail.com

CONGRATULATIONS! :-)

Well done, Ishie - it has been a very long haul.

Might you possibly find the time now to ask Gregory Gooden to forgive my past sins and let me post on the Annexcafe forums once again?

ANY answer from you will be better than NO answer!

Your blogs are very lively and interesting as well as down to earth. I have a question: I'm an IMG doing IM and contemplating doing a fellowship in Hematopathology. What are your thoughts on that, without a residency in Pathology..? I know the Program here offers that as an option but I'm not sure how one would make the switch...?

Hello Ishie

I stopped by at David's suggestion, but belatedly wanted to congratulate you on your achievements in the field of medicine and excelling in your exams.

I doubt you will remember me, but I have been part of Annex since the beginning after moving from MSN.

Best wishes for your continuing success.

Andrew is one of life's 'good guys'. :-)

When he came over to England a couple of years ago with his sister-in-law he took time out to meet me and my wife. We enjoyed a good lunch at an olde-worlde pub high up on the hills of Dartmoor in Devon.

He and I have been Facebook pals for a very long time now. He knows what an unusual and interesting person you are. I'd very much like you and I to be friends once more!

Warm regards,

David.

Sorry David. I'm starting a new life and am jumping feet first into that with my close friends. I don't need the good guy/bad guy stuff, but I do wish you the best.

You have that freedom of choice, Ishie!

I have much experience of life and will be happy to help/advise you should the need ever arise.

Warm regards,

Hi Ishie!

I've kept out your hair as requested.

Please friend me again on Facebook - if nothing more than to assure me that you really
are one of the 'good guys'!

Dave, you went down before you could go up.

I don't need to assure you of anything. I am not beholden to you for anything, and I've already told you, I don't like being investigated or spied on. Call it the remainder of stubborn Americanism.

Unless you are the FBI or police and have a criminal charge you are accusing me of, I really don't need to prove to anyone I'm a "good guy" except myself.

Sorry, not going to happen. I wish you the best, but the people on my FB either know I'm a good guy, or if they suspect otherwise, they're free to unfriend me.

I've only just noticed this! :-(

What do you mean by "you went down before you could go up".

For the record, I'm accusing you of NOTHING, nothing at all.

Please advise me,

David
